Dr Daniel Thomas FIML

Dr Daniel Thomas FIML has an extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Starting in 2000, they worked as a Software Engineer at WorldLingo Translations for a year. Dr Daniel then joined Technology One in 2001 as a Technical Architect, responsible for architecture and design, feature roadmaps, and requirements analysis. Dr Daniel led teams and projects for TechnologyOne's product portfolio until February 2012.

In 2012, Dr Daniel Thomas joined Datacom as a Senior Consultant, where they engaged in client-facing consulting, strategy development, and pre-sales. Dr Daniel managed teams and performed project management, business analysis, and management consulting. During their time at Datacom, they held several positions, including Australia Lead for Commercialization & Investments, Manager of Strategic Programs for Software Australia, and Principal Consultant. Dr Daniel demonstrated expertise in driving change, enhancing speed-to-market for sales teams, and developing new software groups and unified delivery functions.

In 2020, Dr Daniel Thomas became a Casual Academic at The University of Queensland, where they facilitated courses on innovation, entrepreneurship, and critical thinking for post-graduate students. Dr Daniel also contributed to course content development.

In 2020, they co-founded HackMakers, an organization focused on facilitating skill development and social impact through hackathons. Dr Daniel served as the Co-Founder and Head of Experience, overseeing the growth and cross-pollination of skills among participants.

In 2021, Dr Daniel Thomas took on the role of Chief Technology Officer at JESI, a remote worker management solution company.

In 2022, they became a Founding Member of Hackmakers DAO.

Dr. Daniel Thomas FIML began their education at Griffith University in 1997, where they completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering in the year 2000. Dr Daniel then pursued further studies at Griffith University, completing their Doctor of Philosophy in the field of Human and Virtual Beings as Intelligent Collaborative Partners in Computer Games from 2002 to 2011.

In 2016, Dr. Daniel Thomas FIML enrolled at The University of Queensland and successfully completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business in 2019.

Additionally, Dr. Daniel Thomas FIML obtained several certifications, including Mentor and Organiser from Hackmakers in August 2020, UQ Test Your Big Idea from Practera in August 2020, and Python for Data Science from IBM in June 2020.
