Melissa Greenberg

EVP & CDO at Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia

Melissa Greenberg is currently the EVP & CDO at the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia. Melissa has held this position since July 2016. Prior to that, they were the Vice President of Development for the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation from April 2010 to July 2016. In that role, they were responsible for the institutional advancement, resourcing and long term sustainability of the nation’s first major urban public library.

Melissa has a long history of working in leadership roles within the Jewish community. Melissa began their career as a Program Officer at the Jewish Communal Service Association of North America (now the Jewish Federations of North America) from September 1985 to August 1989. Melissa then served as the Director of Planning and allocation for the United Jewish Appeal – Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York from September 1989 to June 1993. After that, they were the Assistant Executive Director at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington from July 1993 to March 1996.

In March 1996, Melissa became the Executive Director of the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco, a position they held until March 1999. From April 1999 to March 2003, they served as the President and CEO of The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore. Melissa then became the President and CEO of the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland in April 2003, a position they held until March 2010.

Melissa has a B.A. in Social Work from Rutgers University and an M.S.W. from Yeshiva University

Melissa Greenberg received their BA in philosophy and art history from the University of Pennsylvania.
