Mahdi Beykipour

(Senior) Frontend Engineer and Project Lead at Jimdo

Mahdi Beykipour has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Mahdi started their career at Simraa, a fast-growing startup in Iran, where they worked as a web developer. Mahdi was responsible for analyzing user requirements and developing the first version of the company's main product, a video streaming platform.

Afterwards, Mahdi co-founded SatraTech, a small startup, where they served as a co-founder, UX designer, and web developer. Although the startup failed after a year, Mahdi gained valuable lessons from the experience.

Following SatraTech, Mahdi co-founded RaasCo, an e-commerce startup in Iran. Mahdi took on the role of co-founder and product manager, and their most successful product was AnjamMidam.com, an online marketplace for freelance services.

Mahdi then joined Digikala.com, Iran's largest e-commerce company, as a senior frontend engineer and project lead. Mahdi worked on various projects in agile cross-functional teams, involving the re-writing of seven different products using technologies like React, React Native, and jQuery.

Currently, Mahdi works at Jimdo as a senior frontend engineer and project lead. Mahdi is part of an autonomous cross-functional team called Store, where they work on scoping and delivering user values based on company strategies. Additionally, Mahdi leads projects such as the migration of Store management to a standalone NextJS app and the overhaul of payment and shipping settings. Mahdi also contributes to operational initiatives including interviewing new candidates and organizing onboarding processes.

Mahdi Beykipour completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering at Sharif University of Technology from 2007 to 2012. Mahdi then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Operations Management at the University of Tehran from 2012 to 2015. In 2017 and 2018, they participated in the Mighty Labs Pre-acceleration Program with a focus on Design Thinking at Betahaus in Berlin. Apart from their formal education, Mahdi Beykipour obtained a certification as a judge from Pitch Bootcamp in December 2016.
