Kathy Flanagan has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Kathy began their career as a Cadet in Air Force ROTC Det. 847 from August 2007 to July 2008. Following that, they worked as an Administrative Assistant for Congressman Mike Conaway from August 2008 to May 2010. Kathy then transitioned to a Welder position at Rode's Iron & Pipe Yard, where they worked from 2003 until 2010. In 2010, they interned as a Journalist at A Backpack Journalist for a few months. Kathy then gained experience as a Technical Writer - Intern at National Instruments from January 2011 to May 2011. Kathy also served as a Project Lead - Technical Writer at Texas State University & TxDPS from April 2011 to May 2012. Kathy's career in business development began at J&J Worldwide Services, where they worked as a Business Development Specialist I from June 2012 to May 2014, and then as a Business Development Specialist II from June 2014 to May 2015. Kathy was later promoted to the role of Business Development Specialist III and held that position from June 2015 to May 2021. Currently, Kathy is the Director of Marketing at J&J Worldwide Services, where they oversee the development of marketing materials and branding initiatives.

Kathy Flanagan completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Management at Angelo State University from 2007 to 2010. Kathy then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Technical Communication at Texas State University-San Marcos from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, Kathy attended Edinburgh University in 2010 to study European Economic Integration and Politics in the United Kingdom. In 2009, they also studied Evolution of International Trade and History of Freedom at the University of Verona.
