VP Of Creative Strategy & Trend at JL Buchanan

Royce Vagnier has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Royce started their career in 1988 as a Sales Manager at Marshall Field's, where they managed non-commission and commission sales teams. Royce then worked as an Assistant Buyer and Merchandise Planner for Home Accessories at Marshall Field's before becoming a Buyer for Holiday trim-a-home. In this role, they developed a highly differentiated Christmas assortment and received the 1997 Merchant Risk Taking Award.

In 1999, Royce joined JL Buchanan as the Director of Product Development, leading category reinventions and product development for Target programs. Royce created successful programs for Goody hair accessories, Candle basics, and Children's accent furniture & bedding.

Royce then joined Target, where they held various roles from 2002 to 2010. As the Product Design Director for Domestics, they led the development of Target Owned Brands and managed a team of 21 product designers & managers. Royce also served as the Sr. Design Manager for Home Decor & Gardenplace, where they forecasted trends, developed style direction, and designed private label products. Additionally, they were the Design Manager for Stationery & Seasonal.

In 2011, Royce started their own company, royce consulting, LLC, where they worked as a Global Retail Strategist and Private Label Product Development Consultant until 2013. During this time, they also worked as a Yoga Instructor at CorePower Yoga and Fire & Flow Yoga.

Since January 2018, Royce has been working at JL Buchanan as the VP of Creative Strategy, after previously holding the role of Director of Creative Strategy.

Royce Vagnier attended Miami University from 1984 to 1988, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.
