JLM-BioCity is a non-profit founded by life science and Biomed professionals. We envision Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel’s Biomed and life-sciences industry. Jerusalem has the potential to lead Israel in the Biomed industry, being home to some of Israel’s most prestigious medical and academic institutions including the Hebrew University, Hadassah Medical Center, Shaare Zedek Medical Center, Herzog Hospital, as well as three leading engineering colleges; the JCT – Lev Academic Center, Azrieli College for Engineering and Hadassah College and Israel’s leading design school. the Bezalel Academy for Arts and Design. This concentration of research and academic education is complemented by many incubators and accelerators for start-ups, some specializing in life science. Jerusalem enjoys an aggressive governmental program, Bio-Jerusalem, aimed to promote the life sciences-based industry. JLM-BioCity is working to transform Jerusalem into the Bio-Startup Capital of Israel. JLM-BioCity: 1. Is encouraging a strong Bio-business ecosystem for Jerusalem, where business people and entrepreneurs interact synergistically with students, scientists, and physicians; where a vibrant business cluster for life sciences and Biomed engineering companies develop in Jerusalem through the synergy between interconnected businesses, suppliers, academics, engineers and medical institutions. 2. Provides Bio-Startups with professional support and leverages the JLM-BioCity networking platform for deal-making. 3.
