Amit Uplenchwar is a Non-Executive Director at JMC Projects. Amit was previously the Chief Executive Officer of the Engineering & Construction (E&C) business of Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) Ltd. from February 2018 to May 2020. HCC is a leading infrastructure construction company serving the sectors of Transportation, Power, Water and has built many of modern India’s most challenging infrastructure projects. With an engineering heritage of nearly 100 years, HCC has constructed over 25% of India's hydro power generation and over 65% of India's nuclear power generation capacities, over 3,800 lane km of expressways and highways, more than 335 km of complex tunneling and over 365 bridges. With a turnover of Rs 4,196 crore (US$ 644 million) in FY 2016-17, HCC has a well diversified order book of Rs 20,027 crore.

Prior to their role at HCC, Amit Uplenchwar was the President - Adani Ports & SEZ at the Adani Group from November 2013 to February 2018. The Adani Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate company headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Its diversified businesses include resources, logistics, energy, agribusiness, real estate, financial services, defence and aerospace.

Before joining the Adani Group, Amit Uplenchwar was the Managing Director at Dodsal Engineering & Construction from November 2003 to May 2013. Dodsal Engineering

Amit Uplenchwar has an MBA from Maastricht University in Finance and IT. Amit also has a specialisation in Marine Engineering from the Marine Engineering And Research Institute in Ship Building and Maritime. Their undergraduate degree is in Mechanical Engineering from Nagpur University. Amit also attended High School at DPS where they studied Science - Engineering Drawing.
