Liz Rumsey, CAE has a strong and diverse work experience in various organizations. Starting in 2000, they worked as a Laboratory Administrator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, where they handled administrative functions for a medical laboratory. Liz'sresponsibilities included document management, lab inventory management, meeting and travel coordination, grant applications preparation, literature and citation searches, and intellectual property agreement management.
In 2001, Liz joined the American Psychological Association as an Assistant Coverage and Acquisitions Analyst for PsycINFO. Liz researched and identified new sources of publications for coverage in the reference database, negotiated coverage permission agreements and subscriptions, and managed the annual budget. Liz also monitored historical files and missing journal issues, as well as managed a journal issue coverage prediction system.
From 2003 to 2007, Liz worked for the American Psychiatric Association as an Administrator for Continuing Medical Education (CME) Courses. Liz administered all procedures and operations of CME Courses for the APA annual meeting and annual Institute on Psychiatric Services meeting. Additionally, they served as staff liaison to the Scientific Program Committees for both events and coordinated with printing companies, convention management, and logistics vendors.
In 2007, Liz joined the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) as Assistant Director of Annual Meeting Programs. Liz supervised a program team and managed multiple projects and budgets related to scientific program development, administration, and publications. Liz also managed the Continuing Medical Education (CME) program through two reaccreditations by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). Liz served as a liaison to the Program Committee and subcommittees. In 2013, Liz became the Director of Information Strategy & Business Analysis at SfN. In this role, they directed a project management and business analysis team for major technology implementations and process improvements. Liz also oversaw the project portfolio, performed strategic planning, and managed operational and capital project budgets. Liz identified opportunities for systems integration, data collection and quality, and analytics. Currently, Liz holds the position of Director of Digital Strategy at SfN. Liz'sresponsibilities include overseeing the organization's digital and member communication strategies, researching digital trends, piloting new initiatives, and optimizing user experience and engagement on digital properties.
Liz Rumsey, CAE, completed their education at Penn State University from 1991 to 1996, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. Liz'sstudies focused on Psychology and Business Administration. In January 2017, they obtained the certification of Certified Association Executive from the ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership.
