Barnard Steyn

Barnard Steyn has a strong background in the financial industry, with a focus on payment operations, fraud, risk management, and organizational design. Barnard most recently worked as the Sr Director of Fraud and Credit Risk at Jobber since April 2023. Prior to that, they held roles such as Director of Payment Operations at Clio, Senior Manager of Payment Operations and Fraud at Peoples Group, and Senior Manager of Payment Operations at Lightspeed HQ. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Senior Manager of Financial Services Operations at Wave HQ and held various management positions at Rogers Bank and Higher One (now BankMobile). Barnard also has experience as a management consultant at Optima and as a business developer and project manager at SMTDC and CSIR, respectively.

Barnard Steyn completed their Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Pretoria in 2004. Barnard then pursued a Master's Degree in Entrepreneurship from the same university, which they completed in 2007. In 2012, Barnard obtained their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization in Finance from Heriot-Watt University. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications including Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from Scrum Alliance in November 2019, SQL for Data Science from Coursera in 2019, and Risk Manager from the University of Toronto in 2016.
