Debra Cartagena

Debra Cartagena has a strong background in talent acquisition and recruiting. Debra is currently working as a Recruiting Lead at Joby Aviation, where they are part of a team dedicated to making positive changes in the world through innovative thinking and hard work. Prior to this, Debra was the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition at New York Power Authority, where they played a crucial role in hiring innovative talent to lead the energy revolution. Before that, they served as the General Manager of Talent Acquisition at JetBlue Airways, where they oversaw the recruitment process. Debra also has experience in the financial industry, having worked as the Manager of Talent Acquisition and Diversity at Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union. Debra began their career at Progressive Insurance as the Northeast Recruiting Manager, where they managed recruiting operations for multiple locations and led a team in executing strategic sourcing plans.

Debra Cartagena obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. Debra also earned a Diversity Management Certificate from the same institution. In addition to their academic qualifications, they have obtained certifications such as PHR from HRCI and a CCDP/AP from Cornell University. Debra is also a Certified Internet Recruiter through AIRS.
