Matthew Lea

Matthew Lea has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. In 2015, they served as a Camp Counselor at Sandy Hill Camp and Retreat Center. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as the Station Manager for Purple Radio. In 2017, they joined ARRIVAL as a Design Engineer, where they played a key role in developing the design for a next-generation electric bus. As a Mechanical Design Engineer at FPT Industrial from 2018 to 2021, they used Creo and SolidWorks to design high voltage battery architectures for the automotive and aerospace industries. Matthew then worked as a Research Assistant at FREEDM Systems Center from January to May 2022. In 2022, they returned to Joby Aviation as a Mechanical Engineer. Overall, Matthew has gained comprehensive experience in mechanical engineering and design across different industries.

Matthew Lea has an education history that includes a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University, which they obtained from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in General Engineering from Durham University, where they studied from 2014 to 2017. Matthew's education journey started at The Latymer School, where they pursued A Levels in Maths, Physics, and German from 2006 to 2013.
