Composites Engineer at Joby Aviation

Sadra Emami has had an extensive work experience in various roles in the engineering field. Starting with their current role at Joby Aviation as an Engineer since 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Georgia Southern University from August 2018 to January 2020.

Before that, Sadra worked at the University of Dayton where they held multiple positions including Adjunct Faculty Instructor from August 2017 to August 2018, and Materials Engineer from January 2013 to December 2017. During their tenure at the University of Dayton, they worked on various projects involving foam cores sandwich polymer composites, structural steel polymer coating systems, and carbon fiber beam design, among others. Sadra also taught principles of materials and building materials lab as a Teaching Assistant.

Earlier in their career, Sadra worked at Tiam Co. as a Quality Control and R&D professional from August 2007 to December 2012. Their responsibilities included assisting in production and design of materials, preparing test specifications, interpreting test results, and validating documents from subcontractor companies. Sadra also served as a part-time Materials Engineering Lecturer at Azad University from May 2010 to November 2012.

Sadra Emami completed their education in a chronological order as follows:

- From 2000 to 2004, they attended Semnan University and earned a degree in Materials Engineering with a specialization in Industrial Metallurgy.

- Between 2004 and 2007, they pursued a Master's degree in Materials Engineering with a focus on Ceramics at the Materials and Energy Research Center (MERC).

- Lastly, from 2013 to 2017, Sadra attended the University of Dayton, where they completed a Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering. During this program, they studied various subjects such as Composite materials, Steel Coatings, NanoMaterials, Reliability, and Durability.
