Tucker Babcock

Tucker Babcock is an Aerodynamics Simulation Engineer at Joby Aviation since January 2024, with a strong academic and professional background in aerospace engineering. Previously, Tucker served as a Graduate Fellow at NASA Glenn Research Center from May 2020 to April 2024, focusing on the design optimization of coupled thermal-electromagnetic systems for aircraft motors. Tucker has experience as a Graduate Engineering Intern at NASA, a Graduate Research Assistant at Optimal Design Lab developing multi-physics motor simulation libraries, and a Project Engineering Intern at Collins Aerospace, where improvements to electric motor reliability in the Boeing 787 brake system were made. Tucker also gained early experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in various laboratories, contributing to projects related to shape modeling, virtual reality simulations, and composite materials testing. Education includes a PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, completing studies in 2024, and a Bachelor of Science in the same field from the same institution, completed in 2018.
