Heather Flower has a wealth of experience in marketing, communications, fundraising, and editorial work. Heather began their career in 1992 as an Associate Publisher and Editor for Western Grower, where they managed editorial, advertising, and circulation staff and wrote articles, columns, and monthly submittals for the association's award-winning trade magazine. In 1994, they were promoted to Manager of Public Relations for the Western Growers Association, where they developed and implemented a strategic communication plan to communicate industry messages and challenges to trade, local, and national media on multiple issues. In 2006, they became the Fundraising Manager and Special Events for Western Youth Services, where they put into action a fundraising strategy that generated more than $200,000 from private, corporate, and grant funding. Heather then worked as a Free-lance Consultant in 2007, handling media relations and community efforts with broadcast success and published results for a variety of clients. In 2008, they became the Development Director for AAGL, where they developed and implemented a fundraising campaign for a medical society. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as an Experienced Communications Professional, handling communications for Don Dressler Consulting on a free-lance basis. Finally, they worked as a Marketing Manager for The Joe Verde Group from 2010 to present.

Heather Flower received their Bachelor's in Journalism/Public Relations and Political Science from California State University-Long Beach between 1987 and 1990. Heather then attended San Diego State University for Journalism/General Education.
