Marcus Zevalkink

Marcus Zevalkink is an experienced professional in the field of animal operations and curation, currently serving as the Senior Director of Animal Operations and General Curator at John Ball Zoo since April 2017. Prior experience includes roles as Curator of Fish and Invertebrates at Monterey Bay Aquarium from March 2012 to March 2017, and Supervisor of Fish, Invertebrates, Reptiles, and Amphibians at Mystic Aquarium from February 2010 to February 2012. Marcus also held the position of President and CEO at MJT, Inc. for nearly eight years, along with earlier roles at the Detroit Zoological Society as a Life Support Systems Operator and at Tennessee Aquarium as a Water Quality Lab Technician. Marcus holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Resource Ecology and Management from the University of Michigan, earned between 1995 and 1999.
