Kathy Lyford

Kathy Lyford is an accomplished editor and press relations expert with extensive experience in media and publishing. Currently serving as the Editor and Press Relations lead at John Burns Research and Consulting since March 2023, Kathy has significantly increased the company's press mentions year-over-year and developed a custom GPT to optimize PR tasks. Previous roles include Editorial Producer at MLB Advanced Media, Copy Editor at CoStar Group, and Senior Editor at FOX Sports, where Kathy contributed to the launch of FS1. Earlier experience includes managing editor at Variety, where Kathy advanced from copy editor, and various editorial roles at Long Beach Publishing Co., Costa Mesa Daily Pilot, and Metropolitan Journals. Kathy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from UCLA.
