Eric Bortner

Eric Bortner currently serves as the Design Quality and Test Manager at Springfield Armory, Inc., where responsibilities include developing robust design quality methods and metrics, as well as enabling and empowering team members. Prior to this role, Eric Bortner spent over two decades at John Deere, advancing from Senior Separator Engineer to Agile Product Owner, with notable contributions including leading the engineering team for the X9 combine, and implementing the industry’s first automatic shifting transmission for harvesting vehicles. Eric Bortner holds a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering from Purdue University, completing studies in May 2000.
