Emily Lorenzen, Ph.D. has a diverse range of work experience in various scientific and research roles. Emily is currently working as a Senior Scientist at Rancho BioSciences. Prior to this, they were a Scientist at the same company.

Emily also worked as a Teaching Assistant and Data Scientist at Metis, an accredited data science training program. During their time there, they completed several projects, including developing a deep learning algorithm to predict cellular responses to drugs based on cell imaging and using natural language processing to investigate the benefits and side effects of nootropics.

Before Metis, Emily worked as a Scientific Consultant at EML Consulting LLC. Emily also served as a Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Associate at Rockefeller University and as a Research Assistant at Oregon Health and Science University. Emily gained research experience as a Student Research Assistant at Reed College and as a Summer Research Assistant at OHSU | Oregon Health & Science University.

Emily Lorenzen, Ph.D., earned their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from Reed College, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Following this undergraduate program, they pursued further education at The Rockefeller University from 2013 to 2020. During this period, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology.
