Eva Sharpe has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Eva is currently the Head of Strategic Engagement at John Innes Centre since December 2020. Prior to this, they worked at The Institute of Cancer Research in multiple roles, including Deputy Director - Policy and Engagement, Head of Corporate Governance, Head of Policy and Engagement, Senior Policy and Engagement Manager, and Science Information and Policy Manager. Eva also had a secondment as the Life Sciences Policy lead at Greater London Authority. Previously, they worked at Society of Biology as an HE Policy Officer and had an internship in Science Policy. Eva gained experience as a Voluntary Demonstrator at The Royal Institution of Great Britain and as a Voluntary Speaker at Diabetes UK. Eva started their career as a PhD student at Clinical Sciences Centre MRC UK.
Eva Sharpe studied at The University of Edinburgh from 2002 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences with a focus on Pharmacology. Eva then attended Imperial College London from 2005 to 2006, where they pursued a Master of Research degree in Integrative Biomedical Sciences. Continuing their education at Imperial College London, Eva Sharpe obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree from 2006 to 2010 with a specialization in Biochemistry, Endocrinology, and Pharmacology.
