Jim Maas has a diverse work experience spanning several research positions and teaching roles. Jim started their most recent role as a Senior Research Associate at the John Innes Centre in February 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Associate at the Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia since July 2015. Jim also held a Research Associate position at the University of East Anglia starting in 2010. Jim Maas worked as a Senior Research Associate at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine from February 2018 to February 2021. Additionally, they had a brief stint as a Research Associate at the Norwich Medical School from February to March 2014. Jim Maas worked as an R Trainer at the Food and Agricultural Organization, United Nations in December 2013. Lastly, they served as a Lecturer at MyCIB, University of Nottingham from 2004 to 2008.
Jim Maas completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and Agricultural Business from the University of Guelph in 1983. Jim then pursued a Master of Science degree in Animal Physiology, which they completed between 1988 and 1990. Finally, Jim obtained a Ph.D. in Mathematical Modelling in Biology from the University of Guelph between 1991 and 1995.
