Sanjay Kapur is the India Managing Director at JSI. Sanjay has over fifteen years of experience in strategic planning, policy analysis, program management, and financial planning for health and development initiatives.

Prior to joining JSI, Kapur served as the Team Leader for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Health, Population & Nutrition team. In this role, they were responsible for leading USAID's health investment strategy in India, including policy analysis, business planning, identifying investment opportunities, and building the agency's health portfolio. Under their leadership, the USAID health portfolio in India expanded significantly in size and scope, with a four-fold increase in funding and a five-fold increase in staff and programmatic footprint. Kapur also led the charge for technical assistance to assist the Government of India with transformational changes in maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and infectious diseases.

Kapur has won numerous awards for their work in the health sector, including the Michael K. White International Award for outstanding work in health from the US government. Sanjay has also received superior performance awards, team leadership awards, and technical excellence awards from various organizations.

After completing their MBBS from University of Delhi, Dr. Sanjay Kapur pursued their MD in Public Health from the same university. Sanjay has also completed multiple professional courses.

They work with Natalie Truesdell - Director, New Business Development, Mark Kowalski - Director, International Division, Boston, and Binyam Desta - Ethiopia Country Representative. Sanjay Kapur reports to Andrew Fullem, VP, Global Business Development, International Division.
