Mickey McCloud is currently the Executive Vice President & Provost at Johnson County Community College. Prior to this, they served as Dean of Instruction at Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City from May 2014 to June 2016. In this role, they oversaw all instructional administrative services, functioned as CAO of the campus, and headed up efforts in curriculum, classroom management, faculty hiring, and academics.
From August 2011 to May 2014, Mickey was the Associate Dean of Instructional Services at Metropolitan Community College. In this role, they were responsible for oversight of all of the Career and Technical programs at MCC's Penn Valley Campus. This included all of the Health Science programs, as well as the Art and Design and Legal programs. Mickey also assisted with overseeing the General Education programs and faculty, and was responsible for student issues and hearings.
Before their time at Metropolitan Community College, Mickey was a Professor at Park Hill School District from August 2004 to August 2011. Prior to that, they were a teacher and coach at Park Hill School District from August 1999 to August 2004.
Mickey McCloud has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in English Literature (British and Commonwealth)/Medieval Theirtory from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, a Master's Degree in English Literature/ Philosophy/ Religious Studies from Baker University, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Language and Literature/Letters from Iowa State University.
