Firas Baibars

Firas Baibars is a seasoned process engineer with extensive experience at Johnson Matthey since April 2018, currently serving as Process Engineer II (Development) focused on the FEED design of a new PGM hydrometallurgy refinery. Responsibilities include reviewing technical documentation, addressing queries, and conducting HAZOPs while also innovating through the design of a novel filter and optimizing mechanical components. Previous roles at Johnson Matthey involved providing technical support for refinery operations and managing mass balances for catalyst production. Prior to this, Firas gained valuable experience as a Pharmacy Advisor at Boots UK, offering healthcare advice and managing sensitive customer situations. Firas holds an MEng in Chemical and Process Engineering and a Global Graduate Award in Arabic Language from the University of Surrey.
