James M. Shaw

James M. Shaw, Jr. is a Professional Land Surveyor with extensive experience in land surveying and geomatics. Currently, James serves as the Reality Capture Manager at Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, leading corporate-wide projects involving 3D laser scanning, LiDAR, and UAS methods. James has a long-standing involvement with the Maryland Society of Surveyors, having served as a Board Member and President. Previous roles include Geomatics Project Manager at GPI / Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., Project Surveyor at RK&K Engineers, LLP, and Chief of Surveys at GW Stephens and Associates. James began the career as a survey technician and has contributed significantly to the development of surveying technologies and practices. Education includes studies at Kaplan College and a high school diploma in Drafting Technologies from Eastern Vocational Technical High.
