Lauri Hennessey

Lauri Hennessey brings deep experience in community engagement, public affairs, fundraising, communications and advocacy. She has worked as a journalist, a Capitol Hill Press Secretary, a communications and fundraising consultant and a nonprofit leader. She has been Vice President of Public Affairs for Edelman in the Northwest, Vice President of Engagement at Woodland Park Zoo and most recently, CEO of League of Education Voters in Washington State, an educational advocacy organization. She has worked with social impact organizations from Treehouse to Mary’s Place, and served on numerous boards, including the state chapter of the National Women’s Political Caucus. She went back 30 years after she left school and completed her BA at University of Washington during the pandemic, then her Master’s of Mass Communications at the University of Florida, specializing in Public Interest Communications, and is now adjunct faculty at the UW’s Masters of Communications Leadership program.
