Michael Pigott

Michael Pigott has an extensive work experience spanning over 18 years. Michael is currently serving as the Head of Technology at Sunfish, where they lead a team in building a new website and app for finding fertility financing options. Prior to this, they worked as a Staff Engineer at Bread Financial, where they led the effort to retire the legacy loan accounting and checkout system. Michael also acted as a subject matter expert for the legacy system. Before that, Michael worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Bread, where they played a key role in transitioning the company from a legacy system to a new platform. Michael also supported new team members in the Production Support team and helped them learn how to support the legacy system.

Michael also has experience working as an Owner at Iron Horse Software LLC, where they developed software on multiple contracts to automate existing practices and enhance client productivity. Additionally, they maintained a loan processing platform and collections system.

Earlier in their career, Michael worked as a Senior Engineer at Bread Finance, where they played a significant role in enhancing various aspects of the company's microservices architecture. Michael worked on developing loan products, credit decisioning tests, and ACH file generation for payment collection.

Prior to that, they served as a Senior Software Engineer at OnDeck, responsible for loan amortization, debugging, and correcting errors in calculations. Michael also developed a second amortization calculation that changed how chargebacks were reported. Michael was also involved in developing a validation tool for line-of-credit amortization calculations.

At LinkedIn, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer and contributed to the development of a web-based script development environment. Michael also maintained an administrative tool used for script deployment.

Earlier in their career, Michael worked at FactSet Research Systems as a Senior Software Engineer, where they designed and prototyped a new data storage format and developed a data transfer mechanism.

During their time at IBM, they served as a Co-Op Pre-Professional Programmer, working on projects related to virtualization systems and instant messaging clients.

Michael Pigott has a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, which they obtained from 2020 to 2021. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 2000 to 2005. Their high school education was completed at Babylon Junior-Senior High School from 1994 to 2000. In terms of certifications, Michael obtained various certificates from Coursera, including Cloud Networking, Cloud Computing Concepts, Text Mining and Analytics, as well as certificates in finance-related courses. Additionally, they obtained the Sun Certified Java Programmer certification from Sun Microsystems in August 2002.
