Jenny Stein

Jenny Stein is a dedicated PhD Student at the Joint Centre for Disaster Research, focusing on effective public education initiatives to enhance preparedness for natural hazard events. Previously, Jenny served as a Science Communication Advisor at Resilience to Nature's Challenges, gaining valuable experience in science communication through article writing, video production, and social media management. A background in geology includes roles as a Technician at GNS Science, Assistant Research Fellow, and Research Assistant at the University of Otago. Jenny's solid foundational education in Geology, complemented by a Postgraduate Diploma in Science Communication, highlights a diverse skill set that integrates scientific knowledge with effective communication strategies. In earlier roles, Jenny contributed as a GET Volunteer Language Teacher with Peace Boat and as an Assistant Language Teacher under the JET program, in addition to geological positions with Blackstone Minerals Limited, RSC Mining & Mineral Exploration, and Venture Minerals Limited.
