Interim Technical/equity Assistance And Capacity Building Lead at Joint Office of Energy and Transportation

Mike Scarpino has extensive work experience in the energy and transportation sectors. Mike is currently working as a Deployment Manager for the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation, where they provide technical assistance for state and corridor electrification. Prior to this, they worked as a Transportation Project Engineer for the U.S. DOT Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, supporting programs that promote energy-related technologies in the transportation sector. Mike has also served as a Clean Cities Project Manager for the US Department of Energy, overseeing the development of public-private partnerships to increase the use of alternative fuels and vehicles. In addition, they have worked as a Nuclear Facility Engineer at the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site and held various positions as a Nuclear Engineer at the US Department of Navy's Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

Mike Scarpino has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maine, which they obtained between 1980 and 1985. Mike also holds a certification in Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute.
