John Fitzgerald Cabra, PhD, serves as an Interdisciplinary Professor and Program Director of Creative Problem Solving and Design at the Joint Special Operations University since January 2024, focusing on military-design initiatives for U.S. Special Operations Command and NATO partners. With extensive experience at Knowinnovation as a Capacity Developer and Science Innovation Facilitator since 2010, Cabra promotes interdisciplinary breakthroughs through engaging conversations among diverse researchers. Previously, Cabra held the title of Professor Emeritus at Buffalo State University, where the Center for Applied Imagination was a focal point for nurturing creative thinking. Additional roles include founding the Myanmar Service Learning and Civic Engagement Program, serving as a facilitator for workshops at Inclusive Innovation, and teaching at several universities in Latin America. Cabra's career in organizational development spans significant positions at American Airlines and Fisher-Price, complemented by a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from Alliance Manchester Business School.

USSOCOM's "Think-Do Tank" Center for Special Operations Thinking. WE SHARPEN THE EDGE OF SOF’S ADVANTAGE: THE NEXT-GENERATION SOF PROFESSIONAL. The Joint Special Operations University (JSOU) provides education to Special Operations Forces (SOF) and to people who enable the SOF mission in a joint environment. In addition to the regular courses taught at MacDill Air Force Base (AFB), JSOU routinely conducts both regular and tailored off-station activities for SOF units worldwide by means of remote or on-site instruction, DL courses, and via video tele-instruction (VTI). Mission JSOU prepares SOF professionals to address strategic and operational challenges, arming them with the ability to think through problems with knowledge, insight, and foresight.
