Dr. Fabian Westbrink

Dr. Fabian Westbrink serves as the Head of Technology at JOEST group since August 2021 and holds the position of Leiter Elektrotechnik. Previously, Dr. Westbrink was the Team Lead Control at Dematic from January to July 2021. Dr. Westbrink's academic background includes a PhD from the University of Duisburg-Essen, completed in October 2022, focusing on coupling the discrete element method with reinforcement learning, alongside work as a research assistant and lecturer at Fachhochschule Südwestfalen from September 2016 to December 2020. Early career experiences include roles as a Scholarship Holder at BEUMER Group and an Electronics Technician at Haver & Boecker, with a strong foundation in automation technology and systems engineering.
