Brian Smith is currently the Director of Lighting at Journey, a design and innovation studio focused on creating immersive experiences. Previously, they served as Studio Leader at BOLD - Brian Orter Lighting Design from 2018 to 2023 and held the role of Senior Lighting Designer and Multi-discipline Project Manager at ICRAVE Design from 2012 to 2018. Prior to that, Brian worked as a Lighting Designer at HLB Lighting Design from 2007 to 2012. They earned a Master of Architectural Engineering and a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering in Lighting Design from Penn State University between 2001 and 2006.
