Joel van Ekeren

Joel van Ekeren is currently the Safety Director at Journey Group. Prior to that, they worked as a Safety Risk Manager at Henry Carlson Company from February 2015 to January 2016. Joel's responsibilities there included site safety, hazard identification and mitigation, training, incident and accident investigation, new hire orientation, MSHA and OSHA site audits and insurance audits. Before that, Joel worked as a Training Officer at Sioux Falls Fire Rescue from April 1987 to January 2015. Joel's responsibilities there included writing lesson plans, delivering them, teaching fire fighting, rescue and vehicle operations, doing continuous training and education, and developing fire fighting drills.

Joel van Ekeren has an associate's degree in fire science/fire-fighting from the Community College of the Air Force.
