John Proctor

VP of Channel Sales at Journey

John Proctor is the Vice President of Channel Sales at Journey. John has over twenty years of experience in sales and sales management, with a focus on the telecommunications and cloud industries.

Proctor began their career in sales at BroadSoft, where they eventually became the Area Vice President of Enterprise and Strategic Initiatives. In this role, they were responsible for developing new enterprise targeted offers, building a base of enterprise channel partners, and developing a go-to-market strategy to effectively target this new market segment for BroadSoft. John successfully established agreements with 35 new channel partners and closed deals valued at over $15M in annual recurring revenue. The team was on track to grow to over $40M in annual recurring revenue when Cisco's acquisition of BroadSoft was announced in October, 2017.

Proctor then joined Cisco as the Director of Cloud Calling Channel Sales. In this role, they were responsible for leading Cisco's cloud calling sales efforts and expanding their partner ecosystem. John successfully grew Cisco's cloud calling business and expanded their partner ecosystem.

In 2020, Proctor left Cisco to join Marina Growth Strategies as the Managing Director. In this role, they were responsible for providing growth consulting services to technology companies.

Proctor joined Journey in March 2020 as the Vice President of Channel Sales. In this role, they are responsible for leading Journey's channel sales efforts and expanding their partner ecosystem.

John Proctor has a masters degree in information systems from Western International University and a bachelors degree in political science from Eastern Illinois University.

They are on a team with Mark Bakies - VP of Product, Julie Runda - VP of Marketing Communications, and Michael Frendo - CTO. John Proctor reports to Brett Shockley, CEO.
