Louisa Aviles is an experienced professional in the fields of public policy, criminal justice, and violence prevention. Currently serving as a Senior Program Officer at The Joyce Foundation since January 2022, Aviles focuses on grantmaking for gun violence prevention and justice reform initiatives. Prior roles include leadership positions at the National Network for Safe Communities, where responsibilities encompassed overseeing group violence intervention efforts and managing site operations. Aviles has also made significant contributions as an advisor for the NYC Young Men's Initiative, an analyst for the New York City Police Department, and as a fellow in the prestigious NYC Urban Fellows Program.
