Emma K Barnes is an accomplished communications professional with a focus on ocean conservation, currently serving as a Program Officer at the World Wildlife Fund since October 2019. Emma leads communications for priority seascapes and collaborates on initiatives related to mangrove ecosystems, coral reefs, marine protected areas, and small-scale fisheries. In parallel, Emma also acts as Communications Lead for the Global Mangrove Alliance, overseeing the dissemination of information and stories within the organization and to the public. Emma's prior experience includes project design and teaching roles at the University of North Texas, as well as research assistance in marine toxicology.
