Khalid Hossain has extensive analytical and laboratory management experience. Khalid most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer of JP Analytical starting in October 2021. Prior to that, they worked for Amethyst Research, Inc. from 2007-2021, where they held roles such as Director of Analytical Business Development, Program Manager, and set up and managed the analytical laboratory. Khalid also served as the Analytical Laboratory Manager for Amethyst Research Limited from 2007-2021. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of North Texas in 2007-2008. Throughout their roles, they have been responsible for managing and regulating radiation producing equipment, providing analytical service to internal and external collaborators, and directing laboratory safety regulations and training. Among their accomplishments, they set up and managed an analytical laboratory that housed a 2.5 MV Van de Graaff accelerator for materials characterization, XPS, AFM, and other processing equipment.

Khalid Hossain's education history begins in 1993 when they earned their Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, which they completed in 1996. From there, they pursued a Master's degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Tokyo Institute of Technology, which was completed between 1997 and 1999. In 2001, Hossain began their PhD in Physics at the University of North Texas and finished in 2007. It is noteworthy that they obtained a Conflict of Interest certification from CITI Program in March 2023.

JP Analytical

JP Analytical is an R&D Partner and Analytical Service provider. JP Analytical provides materials and thin-film analysis and R&D solutions to surface science projects. The centerpiece of JP Analytical toolset is a 2.5 MV Van de Graaff Accelerator. The suite of accelerator-based Ion bean analysis techniques includes RBS (Rutherford backscattering spectrometry), hydrogen forward scattering, PIXE (particle-induced X-ray emission), NRA (nuclear reaction analysis, particle-induced gamma emission, and ionoluminescence (IL) using a micrometer to mm size beam spots. Additional toolset includes XPS, XRF, AFM, PALS, and XRD. JP Analytical can work collaboratively with clients on research projects.
