Deborah Acosta Conder

Deborah Acosta Conder is a recently retired senior executive from NASA- Johnson Space Center and is currently a strategic consultant and advisor. Conder currently serves as Board Chair of the JSC Federal Credit Union board of directors, a $2.2 billion credit union. Conder’s volunteer credit union experience spans over 20+ years, including 5 years as Secretary of the board. Conder brings significant executive-level experience to her role as Board Chair of the dynamic JSC Federal Credit Union.

Conder’s extensive and successful experiences include leadership and program management assignments in accounting, budget planning and implementation, acquisition strategy, diversity and inclusion, human resources, and employee morale programs.

Prior to retiring from Senior Executive Service for NASA, Conder served as the Director of External Relations where her team showcased human spaceflight - recording mission activities and special events, organizing media briefings, public ceremonies, creative exhibits, outreach programs, speaker’s bureau, public inquiries, student and teacher programs, and visitor center engagement. In a leadership role in external relations, Conder led an integrated team of civil servants and contractors in legislative affairs, media and communications, public affairs, community relations, university collaborations, and STEM education.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from New Mexico State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She also earned an Executive Education Certificate from Syracuse University in Public Administration and accomplished the Program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School.

Conder also serves on the Space Center Houston board, and she is a member of the Harvard Business School Club of Houston and the South Shore Harbour Ladies Golf Association.
