Hiroyuki Miki

SVP, Research & Development at JTI

Hiroyuki Miki is a Japanese national, appointed to JTI’s Executive Committee as Senior Vice President Research and Development in January 2016.

Hiroyuki began his career at our parent company JT (Japan Tobacco) as a Production Manager in their Kitakanto factory, 120km north of Tokyo. In 1992, he was appointed to the position of Assistant Product Development Manager, based in JT’s Tokyo head office.

In 1999, Hiroyuki moved to Europe to help set up the manufacturing operation of the newly-formed JTI. He held positions in procurement and product development based in London, Geneva and finally in Trier, where he was a Director of NTM (non-tobacco material) Development.

In 2007, Hiroyuki moved back to JT, based in Tokyo. He was promoted to the position of Vice President of Product Development in 2012, before moving back to Geneva in 2014 to become our Vice President of Product Strategy. Hiroyuki holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Applied Chemistry from the School of Science & Engineering at Waseda University.
