Roan Song

Roan Song has a strong background in software development and a diverse range of experience in different roles and industries. Roan began their career as an intern at the University of Cape Town, where they worked as a tutor in computer science and microcontrollers. They then moved on to internships at Nomanini, where they worked on product assembly and testing, and at Electrum Payments, where they developed a web framework for accessing internal databases.

Roan's first full-time role was as a Python Developer at OpenDNA, where they gained experience in Python development. Following this, they joined SPAN Digital Innovation as a Software Developer, where they worked on various projects involving Java, Go, Python, documentation, front-end development, and cloud infrastructure testing. They also maintained strong communication with international clients and collaborated with technical writers for documentation. Roan showcased their versatility by seamlessly switching between front-end, back-end, and deployment tasks.

After their time at SPAN, Roan joined Scytale as a Software Developer, where they worked on the integration team and primarily used Python and Typescript. They were responsible for integrating with different APIs and played a crucial role in the internal ecosystem.

Most recently, Roan joined Jua.ai as a Senior Full Stack Developer, starting in 2023.

Roan Song completed their matriculation from Knysna Montessori School between 1999 and 2012 without specifying a specific field of study. Afterward, they pursued an Engineer's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Cape Town, which they completed between 2013 and 2017.
