Leslie Smith began their career in 1996 as a Senior Media Planner at GSD&M, where they aided the Pennzoil Corporation's consumer and trade advertising efforts by creating print, radio, and television media plans. In 1999, they became Vice President of GatewayCostaRica.com, a travel website for tourists planning to visit Costa Rica, where they managed all site operations and marketed the site. In 2001, they took on the role of Community Relations Coordinator at the Housing Authority of the City of Austin, where they coordinated marketing and public awareness of HACA programs and initiatives. In 2004, Leslie became the Senior Communication Manager at The 401(k) Company, where they developed and implemented customized communication strategies. In 2007, Leslie joined Charles Schwab as an Education Consultant, where they developed and implemented customized communication strategies for a high-profile client base. Finally, in 2014, Leslie became the Director of Marketing and Communications at July Business Services.
Leslie Smith attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1992 to 1996, earning a Bachelor of Science in Advertising and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Culture, both with a focus on Advertising, Communication, and Spanish. Leslie also attended Universidad de Granada in 1995 for Language and Cultural Studies.
