Nev Delap

Nev Delap has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. In 2004, they spent time traveling in France and Spain. Nev then worked as a C# Software Engineer at Mantara from 2004 to 2005, where they implemented the Elvin messaging protocol. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as a C++ and Python Software Engineer at Boeing. In this role, they developed using Microsoft tools and ACE/TAO CORBA. From 2010 to 2011, they served as a PHP and Python Software Engineer and Linux Administrator at Zurmo Open Source, where they built systems on CentOS and implemented software engineering best practices. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as a Senior C# Software Engineer at TechnologyOne, contributing to the core platform team and supporting the Ci platform. Nev then joined Jumbo Interactive Limited in 2013 and held multiple roles, including Senior Software Engineer, Release & DevOps Manager, and Scrum Master. Nev played a key role in transforming the software engineering process and implementing agile methodologies. In 2017, they took a sabbatical and taught English as a Second Language at Shafston International College/TAFE Queensland. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a Scrum Master, Developer Mentor, and Technical Writer at Equipoise International Pty Ltd. Currently, they are working at Jumbo Interactive Limited as an Analytics Engineer and Python Software Engineer, using SQL, Python, and various tools and frameworks.

Nev Delap has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Murdoch University, which was obtained in 1992. In 2007, they obtained a Teach International TESOL Certificate from Teach International. In 2016, they completed a Post Graduate Certificate in TESOL from TAFE Queensland, with a focus on Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language/ESL Language Instruction. Additionally, Nev has obtained various certifications including a Supervised Machine Learning: Regression and Classification certification from Coursera in 2022, a Le Bien, le Juste, l'Utile. Introduction aux éthiques philosophiques certification from Coursera in 2017, a Étudier en France: Cours de français intermédiaire B1-B2 par l'École Polytechnique, Université Paris-Saclay certification from Coursera in 2017, a Certified ScrumMaster certification from Scrum Alliance in 2014, a Certified Linux Administrator certification from Novell in 2013, and LPI Certification Level 2 and Level 1 certifications from the Linux Professional Institute in 2013.
