Giona Matasci

Giona Matasci is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with experience in remote sensing, GIS, and machine learning. Currently with Jumio Corporation, Giona develops ML solutions for fraud detection in ID document verification. Prior to this role, Giona worked at MDA as an R&D Scientist focusing on deep learning for monitoring applications in maritime and space domains. Giona also has experience in academia, having worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of British Columbia and as a PhD Researcher at the Université de Lausanne. With a background in environmental sciences and geosciences, Giona has a strong foundation in analyzing and monitoring natural hazards.
