Shannon Hymiller has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Shannon started their career in 2004 as a Paramedic (Field Training Officer) at Franklin County Emergency Medical Service and worked there until 2016. During this time, they gained valuable experience in providing emergency medical care and training new paramedics.

In 2006, Shannon transitioned to the role of Rehabilitation Therapist at John Umstead Hospital, where they worked in the Acute Adult Unit. Shannon stayed in this role until 2007 before moving on to work as a Habilitation Technician at A Small Miracle Foundation from 2007 to 2009.

Shannon then joined GRANVILLE COUNTY EMS as a Paramedic from 2011 to 2013. Following this, they worked as a Clinical Research Assistant at WAKE RESEARCH ASSOCIATES & SUBSIDIARIES from 2012 to 2015.

In 2016, Shannon began working at Person Memorial Hospital as an Emergency Department Paramedic. In addition to providing patient care, they took on various responsibilities such as managing scheduling for the Emergency Department staff, acting as a team leader for escalations and support, and creating patient statistic reports. Shannon remained in this role until 2020.

From 2020 to 2022, Shannon worked at Maria Parham Health as an Emergency Department Paramedic before transitioning to Jumo Health in 2022 as an Account Manager.

Furthermore, Shannon joined Premier Research in 2021 as a Project Specialist. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating and overseeing cross-functional project teams, leading important Phase 2 studies in the field of rare disease and neonatal allergy, and partnering with oversight directors and project managers to ensure project delivery. Shannon'stenure at Premier Research ended in 2022.

Alongside their various roles, Shannon also gained experience as a Clinical Research Assistant at Wake Research from 2021 to 2022.

Shannon Hymiller attended Western Carolina University from 2002 to 2006, where they studied Therapeutic Recreation/Recreational Therapy. After that, they enrolled in Franklin County EMS Advanced Education Institute and completed their EMT - Paramedic degree by 2010. Currently, Shannon is pursuing their Associates Degree in nursing at Excelsior University, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
