Michael Osterlund Madsen has a strong educational background in finance and business. Michael obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree with a focus on Financial Management & Accounting from Aarhus BSS - Aarhus University in the years 1987 to 1991. Michael furthered their education at the same institution and received another Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree, this time in Finance & Credit, from 1991 to 1994.

In 2000 to 2001, Michael attended SAA Global Education in Singapore, where they achieved a qualification as a qualified accountant (ACCA qualification). In 2002 to 2003, they pursued an Executive MBA degree at IMD.

In addition to their formal education, Michael has also obtained several certifications. In 2007, they completed the "Making Corporate Boards More Effective" program offered by Harvard Business School in collaboration with FSN Capital. In 2015, they joined the Board Academy (Bestyrelsesakademiet) at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen. Most recently, in 2019, they participated in the Nordic Angel Program (NAP) on startup investment best practices provided by DanBAN - Danish Business Angels.
