Sahan Pitigala

Sahan Pitigala has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Sahan started their career as a Marketing Assistant (Intern) at Social Chorus in 2009. In the same year, they also worked as an Executive VP of Marketing at Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity, Inc. From 2010 to 2011, Sahan worked as a Business Development Manager at SBclick, LLC.

In 2012, Sahan joined Skillshare Company as a Community Ambassador, where they assisted in promoting the company's mission of creating an online learning community. Sahan also created CardboardClass.com to support teachers in finding venues. In 2014, Sahan worked at Dev Bootcamp as a Coach, providing guidance and coaching to aspiring developers.

Following that, Sahan had a significant tenure at HyprMX Mobile, LLC and Jun Group, where they held roles in IT Operations. Sahan served as a Software Developer from 2014 to 2017 and then progressed to becoming a Director of IT Operations from 2017 to 2021. In January 2021, they were promoted to a Senior Director of IT Operations at Jun Group.

Prior to their IT roles, Sahan gained experience in the public sector as a Job Opportunity Specialist at the Human Resources Administration. In this role, they evaluated applicant eligibility for Public Assistance programs, conducted interviews, and resolved customer complaints.

Sahan Pitigala completed a Full Stack Web Development program at Dev Bootcamp in the year 2014. Prior to this, from 2003 to 2008, Sahan earned a BA degree in Cultural Anthropology from Stony Brook University.
