Rob McCoy has extensive work experience in operations, IT infrastructure, and management. Rob started their career as a Computer Operator/Lab Technician at Automated Calling Systems in 2001 and later became a Network and Software Technician and a Student Applications Consultant at the same company. From 2015 to 2019, they worked as a Manager of Facilities and Operations at Wayne RESA. In 2019, they were promoted to Director of Operations and IT Infrastructure, where they showcased strong leadership skills and managed a diverse team of professionals. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Executive Director of Operations and IT Infrastructure at Wayne RESA, a role they assumed in 2022.

Prior to their civilian career, Rob McCoy served as a Sergeant in the US Army from 1997 to 2001.

Rob McCoy obtained their Associate's Degree in HVAC and Power/Building Engineer from Henry Ford College in 1994. Rob later received their Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science, specializing in Occupational Safety and Health, Emergency Management, and Fire Science, from Madonna University in 2010. In addition to their degrees, McCoy also obtained several certifications, including the National Institute for the Uniform Licensing of Power Engineers, Third Class in 1994, a Certificate in Heating and Cooling from Henry Ford Community College in 1994, a Certificate in Power/Building Engineer from Henry Ford Community College in 1994, a Certificate of Occupational Safety and Health from Madonna University in 2010, a Certificate of Training Hazardous Materials Technician from Madonna University in 2009, and OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety & Health in 2008.
