Johan Pieter Verwey

Johan Pieter Verwey is an experienced investment management professional currently working at Value Creation Capital since April 2024, focusing on Deep Tech growth capital and management support. Verwey has been the owner of UMICO since February 2016, specializing in venture capital investments and consultancy, with particular emphasis on impact investing, energy transition, fintech, and artificial intelligence. Additional roles include serving on the advisory boards of Jungle and Antler, co-founding Nostics, and acting as a board advisor for several organizations, including VSPARTICLE and Check6, a FinTech firm. Verwey has also worked as an investment strategist for Invaco Management BV and has extensive academic experience, having completed a PhD candidacy in Philosophy of Law at Leiden University, where research focused on the works of Sayyid Qutb. Verwey holds a BA and MA in Arabic language and culture from Leiden University and a BBA in Business Administration from European University Switzerland/Belgium.
