Vanessa Banker has over 20 years of experience in communications and marketing, currently serving as the Communications Director at the Junior League of Denver since August 2006, having previously held the roles of Communications Manager, Marketing & Development Coordinator, and Marketing & Development Assistant within the organization. Prior to this, Vanessa gained valuable experience at The Home Depot from September 2001 to August 2006 in various positions, including Special Services Associate, Head Cashier, and Garden Associate. Additionally, a role as a Public Relations Assistant at Scream Agency was held from July 2005 to July 2006. Early career experience includes working as the Guest Services Manager and Education Registrar at the Denver Botanic Gardens between October 2000 and September 2001. Vanessa earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism with a Public Relations concentration from Metropolitan State University of Denver from 2001 to 2004.

We are currently working to disrupt the cycle of systemic poverty for women and families in Denver. Founded in 1918, the League started, and aided in starting, many well-known Denver institutions including Children’s Museum of Denver, Mile High Transplant Bank, the Red Rocks concerts, and many others. Our Member Tag Line Our member tag line is Live the Legacy: Give, Grow, Get Connected. The JLD is an organization where women Give back to their community, Grow professionally and as leaders, and Get Connected to other women.
