Rina Padua’s commitment to advancing access to justice began with her involvement at the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau, in 2014, where she canvassed low-income neighborhoods at risk of unjust evictions and researched effective techniques on developing self-help materials. Rina served as Canvassing Director for Project No One Leaves, a student practice organization at Harvard Law School that partners with community organizers, and has experience in outreach and user-testing. She was awarded PBHA’s Priscilla Chan Postgraduate Fellowship for a high-impact service project that leverages technology to serve vulnerable populations and was based at Greater Boston Legal Services to help develop the Massachusetts Defense for Eviction (MADE), a free guided interview for tenants facing eviction, that launched statewide in 2018.
