Jennifer Raess

Jennifer Raess, JD, CFP®, CLU®, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the legal, financial, and business sectors. Jennifer is currently employed at Vanilla as a Product Counsel. Prior to this, they worked at Northwestern Mutual as a Planning Experience Integration Lead from 2019 to 2023. Before that, they held positions at LearnVest as a Lead Business Analyst from 2018 to 2019 and as a Senior Business Analyst from 2017 to 2018. Jennifer also worked at Northwestern Mutual as an Advanced Planning Attorney from 2011 to 2017. Earlier in their career, they held the role of Tax Senior at Deloitte AG from 2008 to 2011 and worked as an Attorney at Moertl, Wilkins & Campbell, S.C. from 2005 to 2008. Jennifer started their career as a Financial Advisor at Charter Investment Services, Inc. from 2000 to 2001. Throughout their career, Jennifer has gained expertise in legal analysis and planning experience integration, showcasing their ability to excel in both legal and financial roles. Jennifer holds a JD degree and is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®).

Jennifer Raess completed their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Law at Marquette University Law School from 2001 to 2005. In 2001, they also studied Comparative Law at The University of Queensland. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A) degree in International Business & German from St. Norbert College from 1996 to 2000. In 1997 and 1998, they furthered their studies in German Language & Literature at the University of Münster.

Jennifer also holds several additional certifications. Jennifer became a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) through the CFP Board in March 2017. In May 2012, they obtained the certification of Certified Life Underwriter from The American College of Financial Services. Additionally, they became a Juris Doctor through the State Bar of Wisconsin in May 2005.
